We didn‘t care about the rain and winds - the ForestSport 2014 competition took its place! :)
Everybody, who was not frightened by adverse weather conditions, has received a large dose of good mood and positive emotions. Thanks God, serious injuries were avoided.. :)
The international foresters‘ open cup competition ForestSport 2014 took place on the 16th of August, 2014, in Vėžaičiai vilage (Klaipėda region). This year’s competition has attracted 12 teams (a total of 60 participants) of foresters and forest lovers from Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and Poland.
The first part of the competition included an orienteering (run) in a forest with five in-between tasks and queries. Later (at the farm) there was a relay with a course of various obstacles and fanciful tasks, called “A Sector of Forest Sport Obstacles”. Difficult tasks of the contest were made even worse by frequent heavy showers…
Again, as in the previous competition, the first three places were captured by Lithuanian teams. The first place and the transitional cup was won by foresters’ team "Šilutė" (in 2013, the cup has been „snatched“ by Klaipėda district foresters’ team "Žalieji" ("the Greens")). The second place was taken by foresters of Tauragė district, and bronze medals came to a team "Piliuona" from Kaunas region.

In parallel with the competition ForestSport 2014, a programme-mini contest for children was organized, so the parents could leisurely take part in the main competition.
After prizegiving and congratulating talks, a hot tub and a real Indian wigwam sauna were awaiting for all the guests; the hungry could enjoy mutton dishes prepared in a cauldron collectively by the competition participants, the thirsty could try local beverages, the numb could enjoy warm communication with friends…, and, as a culmination, the night sky was lightened up by midnight fireworks and the great “Pioneers‘” bonfire.
